About

Two friends co-write this page.  One is John and one is Jon.  We are both former church members and ministry students.  We sincerely believe interacting and discussing things with people who are different from us is how we learn things.  We are not, however, above scatological humor. Thanks so much for visiting.  Leave a comment and we’ll do our best to respond earnestly and quickly.

  1. John,

I just read “From God’s Journal”. Dude: Brilliant. I too am a former believer. Raised roman catholic, deeply ‘born again’ for a few years, stridently atheist since then. I found this page by accident, but I will read more. “If you knew what eternity was, you’d want no part of it… “. “They’re kernels of corn to me”. “I’m so lonely. God.” My jesus-crazy brother had me on the phone for two hours last night. This read felt like flushing the toilet on that experience. Thanks for that.

    Be well,
    Chris

    • Chris,
Thanks so much for your kind words. We hope you’ll check in, read, and chime in with your thoughts. Be patient with your Jesus-crazy brother. It’s a strange hold that religion places over us, and while I have nothing but disdain for religion, I have a lot of empathy for believers. How could I not? But we can’t provide any safe harbor for the beliefs or for poor logic and thought. Christian’s tend to say “Hate the sin, love the sinner.” I have a similar view of believers. I hate what’s going on in their minds and hearts, but I understand, and I hope to one day count them as brothers and sisters, recovering from the same mind-tricks as I am.
